Ingredients:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. Make the Dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Gradually add warm water and knead until smooth. Let it rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  2. Shape the Bagels: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Divide the dough into 16 pieces and roll each piece into a rope. Form a circle and pinch the ends together.
  3. Prepare the Coating: In a shallow dish, mix molasses with 1 cup of water. Dip each bagel into the mixture, then coat with sesame seeds.
  4. Bake: Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Cool and Serve: Let cool slightly before serving.

Presentation Tips:
